Parent Information
Welcome to all our parents/guardians at Brookville Public School! We hope you find this information below helpful.
School Entry
Please use the front entrance of the school when you are volunteering, picking, or dropping off your children or if you are delivering an item for your child. Use the buzzer to the right of the door and a staff member will unlock it for you. When you enter our school, please stop by the office and we would be happy to help you out!
Absence Reporting
Parents are requested to report student absences or late arrivals using the SchoolMessenger mobile app (available for download from the App Store and Google Play), Website (go.schoolmessenger.ca) or by calling the toll-free number 1-877-409-6310.
In cases where a prolonged absence is anticipated, kindly inform your childs teacher so we can support you and your child with informtion regarding curriculum content that will be missed. We are happy to support you with this.
Volunteers
We welcome volunteers in our school and we also have an active school council. All volunteers must have a Police check (with vulnerable sector screening) on file with the office and complete an Annual Offence Declaration form. We look forward to seeing you at Brookville.
Parking Lot Guidelines
Please do not enter the school parking lot during the hours of 8:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m. and 2:20-3:50 p.m. If you are dropping your child off in the morning or picking them up at the end of the day, please park your car at Brookville Park and walk along the paved path. Thanks you for your cooperation.
Medical Forms
Please note that if your child requires ANY form of medication (e.g. epipen, puffer, antibiotics, etc.) we are NOT able to take this medication from you until all forms have been completed. Thank you for your attention to this change in procedure. You may access medical forms by going to our school website and clicking on the Student Health button.
Allergies
Just a reminder for all parents, that we have a number of students with life-threatening allergies within our school and we need everyone’s help in keeping these students safe at school. Please check the labels of all food products before sending in your child’s lunch to be sure it does not contain nuts or nut products. If a child does bring an item in his/her lunch that contains nuts, it will be sent home in your child’s backpack. Students are not allowed to share food to avoid any unforeseen reactions. Thank you for reminding your child of this. Any food items sent to school to be shared will be sent home with your child.
School Cash Online
We use “School Cash Online” for any school-related payments. School Cash Online is the method we use for payments for field trips, special lunches, donations etc. These payments come up frequently throughout the school year and we really encourage you to set this up now so your child doesn’t miss out on anything throughout the school year!
