Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! We hope you had a great summer, and that you were able to relax, enjoy and are ready for an exciting return to school. I am really looking forward to my third year here as Principal at Brookville, and I am very excited for the opportunity to work together with you to help our students not only to reach, but to exceed their goals. I really look forward to meeting our new students and their families, and to re-connect with community members that I met last year.  Please feel free to contact me at dimatteol@hdsb.ca or at the school if you would like to share information about your student.

The school staff have been working hard to get the school ready for our students, and I must say, things are looking great. Thanks to our custodial team of Mr. Bayton,  Mrs. Knapczyk and Ms. Lendvoy,  the school is clean and ready to go. We had a few exciting new renovations over the summer as our student washrooms were renovated with new fixtures, sinks, hand dryers and tiling. As well, we now have an accessible washroom in the front foyer, where our photocopiers used to be.  Our dedicated team of teachers have been in, and classrooms are set up and ready for a new school year.  As well, Mrs. Smith and Mrs.Thoms, our hard-working office administrators, have been registering students and getting materials ready for the first day, and they have done a great job! There is a great air of excitement for the start of a fresh school year, and I know we are all looking forward to the return of our students.

We want to welcome our new staff members, and as we've worked with them over the past few days, we know that they are excited to meet the Brookville students that they've heard such great things about! We know that you will join us in extending a warm Brookville welcome to each and every new staff member!

On behalf of Ms. Carli, myself and all the staff at Brookville, we would like to welcome students back to an exciting new school year, and we look forward to this year of learning and growing!

Looking forward to seeing you soon,

Laura DiMatteo
